Office Fit Out, North Lakes
Client: Rivernet
Category: Office Design
Location: North Lakes, Brisbane
Overview: As a leader in the IT technologies space, Rivernet’s brief was to create an office that was modern, could house their state-of-the-art technology and would encourage their team to return to the office post-COVID. Modern Concepts partnered with Uneek Solutions to provide a turnkey office fitout solution from ideation through to office design and build.
Design Brief:
The office design was to be in-line with the Rivernet brand and foster collaboration but also create a calm and acoustically appropriate space to minimise noise and allow staff to work efficiently without distraction.
The building, while new, was entirely open plan with standard carpets and white walls. Through considered spatial planning, Modern Concepts was able to create zones within the space to meet the client’s brief. These zones included a waiting and welcome area, small meeting room, open plan workstations, private office zones for management, a large boardroom and additional toilet spaces to provide greater amenity for Riverlink’s workforce.
Ergonomics and efficiency were key priorities for the brand, so we utilised sustainable materials and practices to create an eco-friendly space. Finishes, including acoustic panels, carpet and height adjustable workstations, were introduced to minimise noise and maximise the comfort of staff.
The office design utilised glass partitions and a layout that would capitalise upon the large windows within the building. This ensured natural light filtered through the top floor and allowed the exterior greenspaces to be drawn into the design.
A green wall was built in the downstairs reception area for wow factor and to reflect the surround greenspace. Custom black cabinets doubled as vessels for additional greenery while also providing valuable space for additional concealed storage.
To continue with the sustainable and natural theme, a neutral colour base was adopted with black accents, oak timber tones and pops of colour to give the space balance and visual interest.
Additional consideration was given to creating a communications/IT room specific to Rivernet which including cooling and other purpose driven design elements. The design saw the addition of toilets to this warehouse zone along with more storage.
