Overview: Modern Concepts partnered with Uneek Solutions to redesign the office space for KSB Australia. The company felt limited by their existing two-level floor plan and wanted a refreshed space that could better accommodate growth, modernise their working environment and foster greater collaboration amongst the team.

Design Brief: With a large workforce, the client’s brief was to create a space with multiple, functional work areas that was more modern and functional.

Modern Concepts reimagined the space, creating a fresh and functional design that would allow for greater team interaction across the building’s two levels.

Private offices and meeting rooms with supporting technical infrastructure were introduced to allow for condiential meetings and discussions as well as meetings and presentations.

Autex groove panelling was utilised in the meeting room to assist with acoustics and to add an interesting visual feature.

The building’s large glass windows were maximised with key areas designed around these spaces to foster natural light and create a sense of space.

New kitchens were installed, existing toilet amenities were updated and added to while a new outdoor area for staff was added to the ground level.

Cleverly concealed storage cabinets doubled as greenery privacy screens for selected work zones.

Soft furnishings included an upholstered bench seating and cushions in the company’s welcome area.

Flooring was specifically selected from Milliken to be able to withstand the high traffic area from the warehouse into the office space and to adopt a polished concrete looks, reflective of the industrial nature of the business.  Importantly, this particular flooring would be forgiving of dirty work boots.

Timber batten screens, feature wallpaper and blue feature walls were used as design treatments to modernise the space, add visual interest and reflect the company’s brand.
