For dentists and medical practitioners, patient comfort is essential. A well-designed dental or medical fitout is key for creating that sense of comfort and for communicating your values and professional working environment.
From choosing the right colour scheme to natural lighting, our commercial interior designers can assist in helping you create the right space for your business and your patient’s needs.
See below how we worked with Brisbane dental clinic, Dentristry For You, to create a modern yet practical dental fitout for their business.
Scandinavian Style Colour Scheme
Our client felt like their space was beginning to feel dated and wanted to refresh their practice to create a more comfortable space for existing and new patients. The brief was for a clean, calm and inviting space that would be modern, fresh and encourage patient comfort.
A Scandinavian inspired neutral colour palette of earthy tones, beige and white was the perfect way to achieve this. White walls help to capture as much natural light as possible and make the room appear open and spacious. The incorporation of black accents by way of kickplates, tapware, lighting and furniture pieces ties in with the neutral palette and creates room depth and visual interest.
Black Feature Pendant Lights
Dental anxiety is common so it was important to deliver a comfortable setting where patients can feel at ease. Adding feature pendant lights over the waiting area instantly created a relaxing vibe with soft, ambient light and adding a feature in the space (without taking up too much space).
Timber Vinyl Flooring
Vinyl flooring is ideal for commercial interiors because it’s easy to clean, durable and can withstand a high volume of foot traffic. Waterproof and non-porous, vinyl flooring is a perfect fit for bathrooms, medical practices and other spaces where water resistance is vital. Vinyl manages to offer all the appeal of timber without the high costs associated with the real thing.
Panelled walls instantly add texture, warmth and character to a space. The panelling was used in this instance to create an inviting and relaxed atmosphere. Vertical panelling creates the optical illusion of extra height as it leads the eye towards the ceiling as opposed to around the room. Great for commercial interiors as it opens the space up without the need to knock down any walls!
Hexagon Splashback Tiles
The use of hexagon splashback tiles were used to update the look and feel of the dental offices. Hexagon patterns are a refreshing change from the traditional rectangle and square tiles making the space appear less clinical and more friendly. As the rest of the office utilises a neutral colour palette, we added black grout for a subtle contrast, to highlight the hexagonal shape and to tie in with the surrounding black accents.
